We are pleased to let you know that our latest book project, an anthology of writings by Canadian Buddhist women, is coming along nicely, heading into third edit. Tanya McGinnity (the editor) and I recently had an invitation from Ted Meissner at the Secular Buddhist Association website to talk about the book.
You can listen to the podcast (37 minutes) HERE and it is also available from that site for download.
Upon hearing our conversation again, I was reminded of a few things that inspired us to take this on in the first place:
- We have an amazing group of female Canadian Buddhist teachers and practitioners here in Canada
- Crowdsourcing is a great community-builder, rather like a cyber-ized barn raising
- Diversity is healthier and more resilient than tunnel vision
So, with that in mind, here’s a reminder that we are still looking for a title for our book. Want to get involved? E-mail Tanya or I with your suggestion for a title. We’ll be having a public poll of the top five suggestions and if your title is chosen, you’ll get a credit and a copy of the book. All profits are going to the Buddhist Compassion Tzu Chi Foundation.
You can find out more about the book HERE.
