A Special Documentary Benefit Screening at Innis College:
Blessings: The Tsokyi Nangchen Nuns of Tibet
June 21st 6:30pm – Innis Town Hall, 2 Sussex Drive, Toronto
As you know, on April 25th and again on May 12th Nepal was struck by two destructive earthquakes that left almost 9,000 dead, destroyed over 500,000 homes damaging countless others Even now almost two months later there is little more than tarps and tents to stand almost 3 million people and the oncoming monsoon season. The race is on to build transitional shelters to protect them over the rainy season.
In order to raise funds for this, on June 21st We will be holding a special screening of the award winning feature documentary Blessings: The Tsoknyi Nangchen Nuns of Tibet at The University of Toronto’s Innis College. This is an incredible film about a journey to visit a remote area of Tibet where a unique Buddhist tradition of practice and realization has been thriving for the last two hundred years. Even during the destructive years of the cultural revolution when all their religious institutions were destroyed this tradition carried on, hidden in mountain caves and in the hearts and minds of the people.
Please join us in this rare encounter, as the modern world comes face to face with these amazing women who have revealed the qualities of innate wisdom.
