With the recent launch of Mindful magazine as part of the Shambhala stable of publications, I’ve been pondering what is going on in the field of mindfulness-based therapies and mindfulness education in Canada. I’m puzzled at the explosion in the use of the term, often defined in an overly tautological fashion.
So, a quick Google search reveals:
http://www.mindfulnessinstitute.ca – Dr. Phillips in Edmonton, AB
http://www.mindfulnessstudies.com – a large institution in Toronto, ON
http://www.ottawamindfulnessclinic.com – Lynette Monteiro and Frank Musten in Ottawa, ON. Lynette also publishes the 108zenbooks blog.
http://www.mindful.ca – Dr. Stéphane Treyvaud in Oakville, ON
http://mindfulnesseveryday.com – Heidi Borenstein in Toronto, ON
Readers also directed me to:

http://www.mindfulnessmeditationcentre.org – Joseph Emet in Montréal, QC
