Buddhism in America, a historical overview by renowned Professor Charles Prebish, is now available as a free e-book download from Scribd. At first glance it appears to be a welcome perspective, and one of the few books about this subject other than the excellent How the Swans Came to the Lake, written by Rick Fields back in 1980 (so very long ago).
