UBC’s Buddhism and Contemporary Society Program, generously supported by The Tung Lin Kok Yuen Canada Foundation, together with UBC’s Tzu-chi Buddhist Studies Forum, are pleased to welcome Ven. Xianli 賢立 and Xianxun 賢遜 to UBC campus. (These are Chinese language talks. Oral translation is available when necessary)

Beijing Longquan monastery 北京龍泉寺, built in 951, a place of practicing Buddhism and promoting traditional Chinese culture.

The Ven. Xianli is Monastic Secretary and Disciplinary Master of Beijing Longquan Monastery M.A. in aerodynamics at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. 贤立法师: 北京龙泉寺书记、监院. 北京航天航空大学 空气动力学硕士.

The Ven. Xianxun is Clerk of the Monastic Secretariat of Beijing Longquan Monastery B.A. in Risk Management & Insurance at Peking University. 贤逊法师: 北京大學. 北京龙泉寺书记会秘书. 北京大学 经济学学士

北京龙泉寺简介 

古代的寺院,不仅是修行的场所,也一直是传承和普及传统文化的基地。今天,在以学诚大和尚为首的僧团的努力下,这一传统在龙泉寺开始焕发新的生机。凤凰岭层峦叠嶂,上有奇峰怪石、下有飞泉流瀑,自古以来一直是修行的胜地。凤凰岭脚下的龙泉寺始建于公元951年,有千年历史的金龙桥、银杏树、古柏和国槐,还有辽代大殿的遗址,它们静静见证者寺院的变迁。如今,寺内的僧侣们依旧过着传统的丛林生活。同时,他们正在以新的方式传播着佛陀的教诲,弘扬传统文化,力行慈善事业,引导人们回归心灵的净土……
