The Information Warfare Monitor/ (Citizen Lab, Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto and the SecDev Group, Ottawa) and the Shadowserver Foundation announce the release of Shadows in the Cloud: An investigation into cyber espionage 2.0. The report can be downloaded from any of their websites.
This report exposes a Chinese-based espionage ring that has preyed upon HH the Dalai Lama’s government-in-exile, the government of India, and many other organizations supporting HH the Dalai Lama. Reports can also be searched in The Globe & Mail, The New York Times and other major newspapers around the world.
This is a VERY sophisticated operation. If you or your organization support Tibetan causes, you may have been compromised. At this point, we don’t know the protocols to verify and fix any specific breaches, but we will investigate and report further.
