Ingress and Buddhist Temple geo-tagging

Buddhism around the World Groups Media Temples Youth

I recently joined a global community of videogamers playing Ingress, a massively multi-player online Android game made for Google+ by Niantic Labs. The game involves discovering, visiting and claiming portals in the public sphere all over the world. One of the two teams is known as “The Enlightened” (which is part of what drew my attention). I’ve been working to get Buddhist temples recognized as portals in my city. If you are an Android person and are interested in introducing an entirely new audience to the dharma in an entirely new way, you may consider this option. The game is available for free on Google Play. And, oh yes, the game is a lot of fun, by the way!

Here’s a link to the game’s home website: http://www.ingress.comKtriaV5
