DDMBA Ontario is pleased to welcome Chan Teacher Venerable Guo Xing to lead a 5 Day Meditation Retreat at Northumberland Heights Conference and Retreat Centre in Cobourg, Ontario, from Thursday August 30 to Monday September 3, 2012. Come and join us for this rare opportunity to practice, in the beautiful natural setting of Northumberland Heights Retreat Centre.
The theme for this year’s retreat will be exploring Chan from the perspective of the Surangama Sutra. During the 5 day retreat, Guo Xing Fashi will introduce several methods of meditative practice, followed by talks which highlight key Chan concepts from the perspective of Surangama Sutra, one of the key sutras of Chan Buddhism. Practitioners not only practice silent meditation, relaxation and gentle exercises, but will also have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Chan through guided talks, discussion and Q and A throughout.
Please note that this retreat is suitable both for those who are new to Chan Buddhism and more experienced practitioners to deepen and refresh their understanding under the guidance of Venerable Guo Xing.
