Cults, Manipulation & Victimization – a conference

Buddhism around the World Buddhism in Canada Buddhist Psychology Cults Events Practice! Teachers

Sorry I missed this conference, put on recently in Montréal. Myozen pointed out to me that there was a talk entitled “Zen has no morals!” which dealt with some recent sexual abuse scandals involving Zen teachers. Here is a PDF of his paper: 20120707_Hamacher_ICSA

Manipulation and Victimization

The International Cultic Studies Association (ICSA) will be conducting its 2012 Annual International Conference jointly with Info-Cult/Info-Secte and in collaboration with the Université de Montréal, The International Centre for Comparative Criminology (ICCC) of the Université de Montréal, and l’Association québécoise Plaidoyer-Victimes.

Here is a link to the conference’s extensive and broad agenda, abstracts of all the talks and brief bios of the presenters: http://icsahome.com/infoserv_respond/event_conferences_workshops.asp?ID=406
(Check the upper left corner).

Unfortunately, next year’s conference is in Trieste, Italy.
