Buddhism inaction or Buddhism in action?

Buddhism in Canada Buddhist community Education Peace work

That Buddhist chaplaincy story from Canadian Press got me stewing. Here’s what I want to know…

How many members of the Canadian prison population (including workers) self-identify as Buddhists? How many who don’t are nevertheless interested in Buddhism? On the flip side, how many Buddhist chaplains and volunteers are there across Canada, and how have those Canadian Buddhist teachers/community members reached out to that population? How have their efforts been received by the powers that be and the inmates themselves? What Buddhist programs exist for recipients in different contexts?

I’m going to do some research and will update this thread.
