Albert Low hospitalized

Breaking news: Albert Low (b. 1928), a western Zen Master of the Kapleau lineage and director of the Montreal Zen Center, has been hospitalized with a head injury resulting from a fall. Albert has been in increasingly frail health for a while now and has severe mobility issues. It now appears that he will need to go into a nursing home when released from the hospital.

There has been no Dharma heir named in Montreal. The operation of the zendo will come under the direction of one of Albert’s senior students, Monique Dumont, and the board of directors still intend to offer sesshin using recorded teisho but without dokusan.

We are awaiting an official statement from the Center.
