Sakyadhita Canada is a Buddhist women’s organization that seeks to support both monastics and laywomen through a variety of initiatives. Sakyadhita Canada has begun an outreach program designed to inform Canadian women about Sakyadhita and create links between them.
On Saturday September 15th, 2012 Sakyadhita Canada will be holding its first conference in Calgary. The theme of the conference will focus on connecting, sharing and supporting of lay and monastic Buddhist women across Canada. The day’s event will include morning and afternoon panels, as well as a key note address “The Blossoming of Sakyadhita Canada” presented by the President of Sakyadhita Canada, Shirley (Jayanta) Johannesen. Lunch will be offered and there will be an opportunity for social exchange.
The conference will be held at Cardel Theatre, a state-of-the art theatre space http://cardeltheatre.com from 8:30 AM to 3 PM.
Registration is limited so please register as soon as possible. The registration fee is a non-perishable food donation to the Calgary Inter Faith Food Bank, which can be offered during the morning “Meet & Greet” coffee/refreshment registration.
