Shodo Spring is a Soto Zen teacher living in Minnesota, who is committed to engaged Buddhist practice. Earlier this summer, she published her Compassionate Earth Manifesto (see Sweeping Zen: http://sweepingzen.com/compassionate-earth-manifesto-shodo-spring). Next summer, she is planning to walk a significant portion of the proposed Keystone XL pipeline including portions through Alberta and Saskatchewan. She has also been involved with local Canadian Tar Sands activists.
