I hope people are writing letters to the editors of these newspapers to tell them their articles are inaccurate and offensive!

Perhaps the publishers of these papers should also seriously consider sending their staffers to the Pure Land Buddhism conference being held at the end of May in Vancouver. Could be a valuable learning experience!

Jessica Main, from the Lower Mainland Buddhism blog and UBC organizer of the conference, tells me this is not the first time that the writer from the Vancouver Sun, Douglas Todd, has stirred up controversy in Vancouver’s Buddhist community.
