Daeung Sunim arrives in Marathon, on the shores of Lake Superior

Buddhism in Canada Buddhist community Practice! Visiting Teachers

WHERE IS SUNIM? June 16th

After a gruelling 200 km hill climb(mostly) Sunim made it from Nippigon to Marathon. Marathon is on the shores of Lake Superior in Northwestern Ontario.

Sarah Newberry, Sunim’s Marathon host, instantly saw that Sunim was exhausted and invited him to stay an extra day before he continues. Sunim is finally taking a day off since going non stop from Kenora, Ontario. This section of the Trans Canada Highway is exremely tough on cyclists…..I wonder if that’s why they call it Marathon?

Our gratitude goes out to Sarah for hosting Sunim! Sarah has also been on her computer, firing off emails to friends after I told her we had no hosts lined up for the long stretch between Marathon and Sault Ste. Marie. Her diligence has resulted in a flurry of “domino” emails and 3 host stays have been arranged for Sunim….than long stretch just got a lot shorter!

THANK YOU SO MUCH SARAH!!
