Further to our previous post about Buddhist summer camps in Toronto… here is further information from the sponsoring organization.
Buddhist Education Network of Ontario
Our programs are presented in various locations in the GTA
Buddhist Education Network of Ontario was initially formed by a group of Buddhists after a discussion on Education for Compassion and Wisdom at the University of Toronto. As a result of this discussion, we decided to proceed with a summer project to offer summer day camps to youth in 2011.
This is an ongoing endeavour. Our goal is to develop English Dharma programs for kids ages 5 to 17. At this time, we are presenting two full-day summer youth Dharma day camps for youth ages 14 to 16/17 (two weeks, July 4 to 15, 2011) and for youth ages 11-12 (one week, July 25 to 29, 2011). Please see the www.BuddhistSchoolforYouth.ca for details.
We want explore the Buddha Dharma with youth in programs that are both interesting and meaningful, ones that engage them and encourage their participation.
The flyers for the two camps are:
Youth Leadership Day Camp
Youth Cultural Day Camp
Our programs are being taught by university instructors, accredited teachers, graduate students and professionals in the fields of instruction.
