The Great Enlightenment Buddhist Institute Society has been in PEI since 2008, but has been the focus of some suspicion and xenophobic attention. The changing demographic composition of the small province has become an issue not just for them, and the town of Summerside has been actively promoting a new vision of diversity with a festival recently, in which GEBIS took part.
